Located on the southernmost Oregon coast at the heart of America’s Wild Rivers Coast, Brookings-Harbor sits nestled between the Oregon Coastal Range and the Pacific Ocean. The largest community in Curry County, with a population of 14,000, Brookings-Harbor is spread over a fifteen-mile long bench of land overlooking the sea. Called the Oregon Coast’s Banana Belt, the south facing area boasts one of the mildest year-round climates on the Oregon Coast. A developed harbor, situated at the mouth of the Chetco River, hosts a sizeable sport fishing basin and a commercial fishing fleet. Weather, outstanding natural scenery, recreational opportunities, a world-class 18-hole golf course, and an impressive assortment of cultural activities attract retirees and visitors from around the world.
