Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area
Reedsport area. Located three miles east of Reedsport on Hwy 38, this unique area is home to approximately 120 head of Roosevelt elk and the numerous nesting sites of waterfowl.

Douglas County Coastal Visitor Center
Located four miles south of Reedsport. Formerly the Coast Guard’s Administrative Station, the center now houses displays on the area’s maritime history and natural history. Open May-September. Whale watching station open year-round. (541) 957-7007

Loon Lake Recreation Site
Reedsport area. Located 19 miles southeast of Reedsport off Hwy 38 and Mill Creek Rd. BLM site offers a sandy beach and clear, deep water for swimming, boating, fishing and waterskiing. Campground with complete facilities. (541) 756-0100

Umpqua River Lighthouse & Museum
Winchester Bay. This lighthouse has been used to guide ships along the Oregon Coast and into the Umpqua River since 1894. The light is one of a very few in service that still uses the original lenses made in Paris in 1890. The beam is visible 19 miles at sea. Good whale watching area.  Lighthouse and museum open daily May-Sep, 10am to 4pm.
