Lesson 1 Native American Legends
In this lesson students examine Native American myths that explain the eruption of Mt. Mazama and the filling of Crater Lake. Then they either complete a cloze activity or script and perform for a reader's theatre.
Lesson 2 The Mountain-That-Used-To-Be
In this lesson students work in groups to learn about the eruption of Mt. Mazama and the subsequent formation of Crater Lake.
Lesson 3 Explore the Sinnott Memorial Overlook and Museum
In this lesson students discover Crater Lake using the displays at the Sinnott Memorial Overlook and Museum. If you are not able to complete this during a visit, it can completed as an Internet search activity.
